When Showrooms Don't Work ... Why?

Building a showroom isn’t a sure path to increased revenue. Unlike Iowa’s Field of Dreams - if you build it, they won’t necessarily come.

The showroom, or if done properly- the Experience and Education Center, is an important part of the growth and evolution of your business. However, success is in the details and functionality. It needs to be designed, constructed and outfitted - to make it easy for your salespeople to use, and to do specific things with your clients. The resulting experiences are the key.

If it’s not done properly – the client gets no benefit from visiting the showroom.    If the same thing is done in your facility that can be done at the client’s kitchen table - then there is no benefit to the client for making the trip to your place.

Many dealers and their salespeople will say “my customers don’t want to, and don’t have time to come to a showroom”. But dealers who have a properly designed, outfitted, and functioning Experience and Education Center, will confirm that when executed properly their clients really enjoy the experience and recommend visiting it to their friends. And the clients respond by purchasing more and better gear. When an experience center is done right - everyone enjoys it and everyone wins.
